We require a small http server which we can run on Windows to serve static content on a local PC. It does not have to be able to do anything else than static content, i.e. HTML pages images, flash files (with XML import), sound files .js pages and so on. The attached Zip file contains a website which should work without problems - i.e. the Javascript on the pages should work and the Flash files included should display correctly and import the required XML files when viewed in Browsers. We do NOT require server scripting functionality. Installation should be possible from Windows 98 onwards via an installation program without human intervention. It must have a footprint of smaller than 1 MB and it must be possible to programmatically adjust the configuration file to change the root folder as required by us to any folder on the local hard drive. The solution can use existing and well proven open source components provided the licence allows inclusion in commercial product such as lesser GPL. Xitami ([login to view URL]) for example looks very good, but it does not like the XML files which the Flash files we use import - but this may only be a small problem which you can overcome. This must be a very stable server as we plan to use it in a commercial environment. Pages will only be served locally so security is not regarded as a requirement.
