We are looking for someone to build a monte carlo simulator, with the following specifications:
1) The simulator will simulate a number of different contests, where each contestant is given an estimated mean score, and a respective probability distribution function to look up. This may take the form of a bespoke probability distribution assigned by the user or a well-known probabilty distribution function (eg normal distribution) for which measures such as the standard error and, where relevant the skewness/kurtosis are specified for each contestant.
2) The user should be able to specifiy multiple probabilty Distributions, adding in the values for, at least, 1000 quantiles.
3) A decent random number generator should be used
4) The simulator should be able to run as many simulations as the user specifies, with frequency data reported for at least 100 output variables in a form that can be exported or cut and pasted to an excel spreadsheet
5) each contest has up to 40 contestants, with the number of contestants varying from contest to contest
The idea is to have a simulator that can deal with more output variables and is faster than the generally avaialble excel add-ins
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
