I want a program that can take various fields in an excel database and create html pages from it.
It should work with on all versions of excel.
More details upon request
Here are some more detailes on the project:
The program is going to be used to create a links directory on a website.
It should function similar to the PAGE Building feature in the program [url removed, login to view] (it doesn't have to do anything other than create the links pages from a database)
So basically, the program should ask the user: Location of template.
The template is an html template file for the links directory with the marker ##DATA## in the page where all of the links information goes.
It also asks:
What do you want to name the main page.
And the user would type something like related
The program would then create a links directory with the top page being '[url removed, login to view]' and then create all of the categories/sub categories based on the data in the excel spreadsheet.
IF you don't understand exactly what I want, you should download Arelis and try out the page building feature.
Please write back a quick message if you understand what I want to accomplish or if you have any further questions.
I would like this program to be an excel Macro or something I can access from within Excel to create a links directory from excel data.
The only difference it may have from Arelis pages generator is that I may have more than a 2 level system.
Arelis only allows category/subcategory but I have some sites that have several categories.
So the program may need to have a way to create a structure to cope with items that have 5 columns for the category.
