Who is Kid Scoop? (CONTACTS REMOVED BY ADMIN) We’re Montreal’s first free, bilingual website for parents who want to find kids activities. Our searchable database of over 8000 up-to-date kids activities gives Montreal parents the scoop on what to do with their kids. Our website is a year old and we now need to re-design the homepage so that it is easier to navigate and more user friendly. Today we believe that the site is too busy and parents are not sure where to start! We are also doing a poor job of calling to the attention of the Activity Providers (those who’s activities one can find in our database) how they can use our site to reach parents who visit. The goal is to re-design the homepage so it that we have clear areas within the site designated for our two customer groups. The two customer groups are: (A)Parents (B)the activity provider/retailers who want to reach parents For Parents we offer 3 services: (1)Search for activities and register on line for these activities, (2)browse businesses in the Scoop Card section who offer deals and buy a scoop card to get the deal, (3) Read articles and blogs in the Scoop Cafe For Activity Providers and Retailers we offer 4 services: (1) Advertise via our banner ads, (2)target marketing to our subscribers, (3)list their activities in our database, (4)offer on line registration for their activities Key areas of the site: 1-Create an account and log in! This gives the parent an opportunity to tell us the age of their child and their interests so that we can remember them and serve them activities that match their family profile. We want to increase the number of our unique visitors who visit the site and become subscribers thus they register/log in. 2- Currently the center section of our site is a sample display of activities available. It is important to explain that we have 3 types of activities that one can search- Anytime, Special Events and Programs and Classes. 3- We need to maintain ad space as a revenue generator. Deal of the Month, Activity Provider of the Month, Leader board, small boxes and big boxes are all paid for spaces. 4- We also have a Scoop Card section and a Scoop Cafe Section. These areas are additional services we offer but they get lost in the mess of the homepage. 5- The Service Provider Sign in section is lost at the top right and it is not obvious to a Activity provider when he arrives at homepage where to go to get information on how to advertise, log in etc 6-The ability to allow a parent to register for an activity that s/he finds on out site is brand new. There is no area on our homepage that lets us talk about this other than the small banner ad on the right hand side . Who are we looking for? We are looking for someone creative who can understand where we are going and re-work what we have in order to offer the best user interface. Please only experienced users bid, (please no bid spammers or basic/bulk web developers), This is all about design and usability. You can bid up to $30 to be selected to create a sketch (Only users with good feedback and special consideration for any project examples or links to exsisiting work), We will send jpg images of the system as we have it today, so you can create a sketch or layout of how you would create a graphical interface. NO NEED TO PROGRAM you can send jpg images with your idea. We will select the best design and invite him/her to a next round project where we'll ask to create a much more detailed design, and you can quote accordingly. Designs will be selected by our in house developer and product managers Completion of project is targeted for August 31st, 2010. Deadline for application is August 13th, 2010
