We are seeking an experience web developer to design, develop and deploy a website for a small business (a homestaging and interior redesign company). The company's website is presently listed at [[login to view URL]][1], which is a Microsoft Live environment. We have been dissatisfied with this service as it does not provide the flexibility that we desire. It also does not display the site well in Firefox or on a Mac (with Safari).

Ideally, we would like to use an open source content management system to administer the site, though this is not a hard requirement. We are looking for guidance on best practices for building the site.

We also own [[login to view URL]][2], which is the domain that we would like to use for this deployment. This domain is presently parked with 1and1 ([login to view URL]). We are willing to move to new web hosting provider if cost effective and recommended. Site should be fully packaged and set up on 1and1 or alternate provider as part of delivery.

It is critical that the site is developed to be SEO friendly.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).

The site structure should be:

**Home**??" Content as presently described at <[login to view URL]>. Site should feature top and bottom textual navigation, no flash, SEO friendly content headers, phone number,

**Sitemap** ??" Need assistance in setting up a sitemap according to the sitemaps protocol [[login to view URL]][3]**.** The bid should include the initial setup and submission to Yahoo, MSN, and Google sitemaps.

**Privacy Policy**??" Lorem Ipsum content. We will modify this copy post delivery.

**Our Services**??" Lorem Ipsum. We will modify this copy post delivery

**Real Estate Staging**??" Content as presently described at <[login to view URL]>

**Colour Consultation**??" Content as presently described at <[login to view URL]>

**Interior Redesign**??" Content as presently described at <[login to view URL]>

**Photo Gallery**??" Presently unsatisfied with Microsoft photo gallery. I am open to options for displaying images. This is the highest traffic part of the website. Our big requirement is to show before and after photos of work that we`ve done. We want to be able to see the before and after photos side-by-side (though the before could be a bit smaller). A user should be able to peruse thumbnails of images. It should be easy to create web-ready images (that is with proper resolution) by uploading digital images. Some examples of other galleries in the industry include: <[login to view URL]>, <[login to view URL]>. We do not want an automatic slideshow. We do not want to open secondary windows for every picture. Perhaps a Flickr mashup? Coppermine? Some other open source Flash-based photo gallery application? We would like to duplicate whatever we do into two gallery sets: one for staging and one for redesigns.

**Blog**??" We have been presently maintaining a blog at <[login to view URL]>. We would like to migrate this blog over to our own servers and operate it under our own brand (mostly to enforce brand consistency and help with SEO). I am open to using Typepad, LifePad, or other open source blogging system. The option to have multiple blogs/editors is a definite plus. The blog should have RSS feeds available and allow a blog roll to add other links.

**About Us**??" Lorem Ipsum. We will modify this copy post delivery

**Industry News**??" This should allow the ability to add news stories and elements of interest to readers. We are open to suggestions (e.g., should we include syndicated content from other providers?). Ideally, we would like the ability to add a news item that is pushed out via RSS to other syndication services. Guidance on this would be appreciated.

**References**??" Content as presently described at <[login to view URL]>

**Contact Us**??" Form submission to capture Name (required), Email (required), Phone (optional), Address (optional), Comments (optional), opt-in check box for quarterly newsletter subscription. Form should send an email to an email address provided. Upon successful completion, the user should be directed to the Thank you page

**Thank you page**??" Lorem Ipsum. This page should allow us to add Google analytics conversion tracking code. Code Snippet can be provided upon agreement for services.

**Run of site**

· The site should include Google Analytics tracking code [code snippet will be provided upon agreement for services]

· The site should include meta title, meta description, meta tags, and other SEO-friendly elements.

· We should have the ability to add sub-level pages to the navigation for any section. This would not affect top-level navigation. Ideally changes would auto-update the Sitemap for Google and Yahoo.

· If possible, we would like to use an open source content management system (Joomla, Drupal, etc.)

· The site should use tableless design and CSS.

· We are open to new design approaches rather than what is presently used. We will provide logo and a PSD of other marketing material. A full gallery of images will also be provided and would welcome their inclusion/use throughout the site.

## Platform

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+

Safari

Firefox

The site should be W3C compliant

Open to ASP or PHP as a development environment.
