This project is to write a program that runs on a Windows 2000 or Windows XP system and reads the SCSI command events contained in a proprietary protocol-analyzer binary trace file and generate a script for a traffic generator for Serial Attached SCSI. Many customers have requested the ability to recreate the bus traffic captured by the analyzer, by using the traffic generator. This project requires learning the trace format for storing protocol data and the script format for the traffic generator. Parsing the trace for SCSI commands, a script will be generated for the SAS traffic generator so the traffic generator will duplicate the command sequence for either the Initiator or Target or both. Details of the file formats will be made available to interested coders who have been approved for bidding.
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) Read the sample trace files that will be provided.
b) For each trace file, generate a traffic generator script that will be executed by the Buyer's SAS traffic generator. This traffic will be captured by an analyzer and saved as a trace file. The SCSI commands from the two trace will be compared for verification.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
Windows 2000, Windows XP or DOS 6.1 or greater.
