i'm training some interns on a java web app. they want to learn android too. unfortunately i dont know that. have a simple requirement : on open our Android app , it uses http components to read a public page and show that text in a label in the app. Can someone do that for us? using [login to view URL] httpcomponents-client-4.3.x [login to view URL] (change spaces to / its an open src url so i think its okay to put that here) What kind of page will the server have? text only page like "going to club at 3pm" - plain text no html or mark up. Can be up to 2000 characters of text. Low budget as just for students and one URL - hard coded, you can add any url you want for now like [login to view URL] prjs php2 [login to view URL]

Hi, I am also a tutor. If you are looking for showing a simple text only, then it can be easily done by http request fetch. This is a simple feature that can be delivery withou problem. One question. is the whole content goint to be insert on simple text , right ? Do you have the target page that going to be parsed ?
