I have created environments for complex applications using NodeJS + ExpressJS on the backend and ReactJS on the frontend. From my experience it is best to only use Typescript with NodeJS and leave ReactJS pure. I would recommend this because React is using Babel behind and it has its own post-processor and you won't have any issues with interlacing them.
