Build a mini elevator simulation project

Modern lifts/elevators have a number of safety procedures and mechanims to ensure the safety of their users. Elevators must be able to detect weight/occupancy issues, detect and respond to objects between the doors, and react to a snapping cable. Design and implement a simulation of an elevator control system which responds to a set of requirements /scenarios (ie doors opening, closing, responding to a person passing between the doors as they are closing, emergency breaks etc).
