Hi, we are in need of a one-off solution to this problem, posted on Google Analytics help forums as well:
I've got a odd question, we are moving 48 clients from one platform to another, the old platform uses a wildcard subdomain to setup various website and track them in Google Analytics (universal JS)
e.g.
[login to view URL]
[login to view URL]
[login to view URL]
we now have a new version of the software running these subdomains and are migrating client overs one by one, to a new directory called /outlets, the issue is that we can't use the wildcard subdomains for the new directory as its already in use, so we have had to set it up like this:
[login to view URL]
[login to view URL]
[login to view URL]
Now the odd thing is, that only the first GA that gets tracked. No secondary GA codes get tracked, so only client1 sees any data on the new outlets... although, the Conversion stats DO show on client2, client3 as well... its really odd.
I've checked the filters, none are being applied to any accounts.
ps, when each outlet is loaded we load a new GA code
e.g.
[login to view URL]
<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=[login to view URL](o),
m=[login to view URL](o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;[login to view URL](a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//[login to view URL]','ga');
ga('create', 'UA-XXX-1');
ga('send', 'pageview');
</script>
[login to view URL]
<script>
(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i['GoogleAnalyticsObject']=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
(i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=[login to view URL](o),
m=[login to view URL](o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;[login to view URL](a,m)
})(window,document,'script','//[login to view URL]','ga');
ga('create', 'UA-XXX-2');
ga('send', 'pageview');
</script>
etc
Can anyone make sense of this?
