Hi, For the last 5 years I have been working within the field of lighting design, prior to that I was an electrical project designer and draftsperson. Having completed a Master of Arts in Architectural Lighting Design and experience on a number of international projects, I have been involved in the design of custom luminaires when a suitable 'off the shelf' option was not available for a project. I have a few questions about the luminaire: - What is the specific application for the light fitting? office work light, industrial, home? - Is there a predetermined size for the luminaire? Will it be desk or floor mounted? - What kind of LED's are to be utilised? point sources, strips, modules? - Does the luminaire need to be IP rated? - Will both the reflectors and housing be from aluminium or only the housing? - What manufacturing process will be utilised? - How many units will ultimately be manufactured? - Will there be a mock up and testing phase? - Are there any specific considerations that also need to be taken into account? eg, restrictions in size, number of moving parts, etc? Please let me know if you require any additional information or wish to discuss this further. I would be interested to hear more about the project and the plans for the design. 4 years deal with LED lighting and very well know specifications efficiency (lumens / watt) of various types. I can calculate according to required lux how lighting can be placed in the room.
