We have some software that currently is written in R and needs to be translated to C/C++ for both speed and commercial purposes. This project would be the second part of the code. The first part having been recently completed in C++.
The program needs to be developed so that it will run natively on a Linux based system. The data (liquid chromatography-mass spec data) has three dimensions; time, m/z (mass/charge) and intensity. There are many good guides online briefly, compounds elute off the LC system are detected by the mass spec. The first part of the software has reduced to data to a set of Cartesian coordinates with associated integrated intensities.
The needed second part of the software would need to take these coordinates and group them between different repeat samples. This will be done using a known algorithm using kernel density. These grouped points will then be aligned across the repeated samples using one of two different algorithms. One is a simple regression algorithm the other is a dynamic time warping algorithm (DTW). Finally, some images from the raw data will need to be printed to either pngs or other image format. We already have all of the coded the algorithms in R and require the code to be commercially compatible.
