DO WE VALUE OUR FREEDOM?
It is of great astonishment to me that even after so many years of independence, we really do not comprehend the meaning as well as the value of freedom. Are we respecting the struggle of our forefathers and mothers? Are we valuing this precious freedom that is given to us, and understanding that we, as citizens, have a responsibility towards the nation too? Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Chandra Shekhar Azad did not sacrifice their lives to see fellow Indians slitting each other’s throat on communal grounds. This was not something that our freedom fighters could have imagined. They envisioned of India having communal, religious and cultural harmony. We do not value our freedom. MISUSE OF RIGHTS IS FREEDOM, AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED. IT IS OUR MINDSET WHICH NEEDS TO BE CHANGED.
As it is rightly said,” freedom can’t be bestowed, it must be won.”
India is a land that symbolises unity in diversity. Indian culture is the repository of a multiplicity of castes, religions, customs, regions and languages.15th August is the holy day to remember all those freedom fighters who bravely fought for us. WE SHOULD NOT LET THEIR BLOOD GO WASTE. WE NEED TO BUILD A LEGACY THAT IS FREE FROM THE PREVELANT PESSIMISM, OPPRESSION, PREJUDICE AND CORRUPTION. IT IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO LEAD OUR COUNTRY AHEAD.
HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! JAI HIND!
