I have extensive professional experience and qualifications for writing and editing positions. I recently retired from a forty-five year career of continuous university academic research and publishing as well as teaching courses ranging from freshman composition to graduate seminars in literature and cultural studies. In addition to my experience publishing several articles in major academic journals, I have written and presented papers at hundreds of international conferences. During the course of my teaching career, I have graded thousands of student essays also. I have an extensive vocabulary and superior grammatical skills as well as expertise in MLA, APA, and Chicago documentation styles. As a professor of English and world literature, I have advanced knowledge of all aspects of creative writing (poetry, fiction, autobiography, non-fiction) as well as the historical and cultural contexts of literary production. I have additional experience in speech writing, commercial marketing copy preparation, professional correspondence, and technical writing. Recently, I have been editing novels, articles, blogs, and other writing projects on a freelance basis. I am proficient in French and have a basic knowledge of Spanish, Italian, and German.
