Task: Work through the different problems described below, write a short report explaining each of the solutions you provide (~2000 words). For each of the sections, include a printout of the code you write. 1) Take following terms and build a suitable data tree for aircraft. Explain the logic of your structure. When and why are you using elements? When and why would you be using attributes? a. Fuselage b. Size c. Maximum takeoff weight d. Maximum number of passengers e. Manufacturer f. Number of engines g. Flight staff required 2) Write the DTD that can be used to verify a data set, keep in mind that aircraft may have several engines, but the total number will be finite, use all features listed as appropriate. (When and why are you using elements? When and why would you be using attributes?) If you can think of any, you may add additional elements. (define the DTD as “external??). 3) Build a data set (using the structure defined in 1 and 2) in XML, defining (at least) 20 different aircraft. 4) Verify your data set with the DTD, using the W3 validator. (provide a screenshot of the validation, as part of your documentation) 5) Define a stylesheet (XSL) that generates an html file to display the aircraft in a list (not in a table. The aircraft manufacturer must be displayed as a heading and the type as a sub heading, all other elements may be displayed as body text. 6) The XSLT must implement a range of filter functions, including search for size, particular features, and particular engine types (eg jet engine, or rotor engine, above wing/below wing). Explain the data structure, the elements of the DTD, and the XSL file, describe the search functions. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased.
