Hi,
I have 104 zipped text/csv files. In total the zipped files are 1,5 GB. I want these files converted by an application into a Microsoft Access 2010 database. When you unzip the files they will become much bigger ofcourse, I expect around 10 GB.
Since Access can only handle databases smaller than 2 GB, the endresult will be several databases of 1,9 GB. Currently I run Access 2007. I will switch to Access 2010 in the coming weeks. As you know a database in Access 2007 is limited to 1,9 GB. If you make it bigger, the database becomes corrupt. In Access 2010 the size can be much more, depending on your RAM. I would like that the application can detect the maximum possible size of the database OR that I can enter the maximum size in GB of the database to be contructed by the application. Since it become several databases, I would like the files (every file is one week) grouped togheter by date as much as possible. So database 1 is june-october 2009 apples for example, database 2 is november 2009-march 2010 apples for example, database 6 is june-october 2009 other fruit for example. The records in the text files are 1) apples and 2) other fruit. I want these seperated so the endresult is several databases with apples and several databases with other fruit. Every record has a clear identified field with apple in it (or another fruit).
Very important is date and time format. The csv/txt files are contructed in the UK so automatically the date and time format is UK. I don't want the UK date and time format. The format I want is DD-MM-YY and HH:MM !!
Regards,
Mike
