Assistance with Transferring Existing Joomla 1.5 site to 2.5

Hello, I am a Website Developer and Graphic Designer. I recently got a job from a Client, who uses Joomla. I am used to Developing with Wordpress and I do not have the past experience with Joomla. I don't have the time to spend learning the platform for now. What I need, is someone who will simply give me a little guidance on entering Joomla. I used SP Upgrade to transfer the Client's site from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5, however, I have not noticed any significant transfer of data. The Tables in the Database look the same, I don't see the VirtueMart products transferred to the new 2.5 installation, etc... So I don't have time to waste figuring out all these small glitches. I just need someone to give me 2-3 hours of guidance, and then I can handle the rest of the job on my own. Note: I want to you to assist me by tomorrow (Saturday), my timezone is -4:00 GMT.
