APPLICANTS WITHOUT TRANSCRIPTION SAMPLES *CANNOT* BE CONSIDERED. Please don't demand that I "just send you some sample audio" to transcribe. Instead, download some **2+ speaker** public domain audio, taking initiative to create your own one-page sample. **NEWBIES WELCOME** (will train!) but still must have samples. Thanks for understanding. ---------- Seeking *long-term professionals* for general business transcription. Must have experience with CONVERSATIONAL transcription with *TWO or more* speakers (Ex: interviews, meetings, etc.). ** Please attach transcription sample when applying. You'll be chosen to interview SOLELY based on the strength of your sample(s), which is judged on: - Accuracy (terminology researched, no mishears, etc.) - Formatting (use of PARAGRAPHS, consistent appearance, etc.) - Punctuation (CORRECT use of em dash, colon, semi colon, quotation marks, etc.) Please don't send confidential files from other employers as samples, as this is improper and may not be legal where copyright and ownership are concerned. Instead, create your own short, two-plus speaker sample from free audio online. ** Though this contract will entail mostly business transcription, SOME experience with specialized terminology (legal, medical, financial, etc.) is preferred. ** If selected (based on your communication, professionalism, and work sample) you may be asked a few preliminary interview questions, then asked to take a short transcription test to gauge suitability for hire and starting rate. ($12 and up per AUDIO HOUR, oDesk fees included in that rate.) If you can start ASAP, and have one of the most affordable rates for some of the highest quality work, you'll be given preference. I am a London trained transcriber and proofreader currently based in South Africa. I have worked as a full time freelancer from home mainly for UK companies for the last three years transcribing a wide variety of different projects, these include financial reporting, TV and radio shows, focus groups, one on one interviews, Court transcripts, plus lots more. One hour of audio would take me approximately three hours, depending of course on the quality. I am, of course, happy to provide a test file. Hello, I have been transcribing for a period of five years now. I have what I would call experience in working on audio files containing different accents. I have a typing speed of 80 words per minute and a good accuracy which means I always handle a two hour audio file or files in a day and have it submitted to any of my clients by the end of the day. I can handle the audio files within the time frame you have specified or less. Please see PM for more. God Bless.

Hello: With thirty plus years of general transcription, in home data entry, assistant office manager and, medical receptionist I feel qualified to take on this assignment. One hour of audio takes me around four hours to accomplish. Considering there is no background noise or strong accents involved. Dear Hiring Manager, I am very interested in completing this transcription job for you. I am still fairly new here to Freelancer but have 2 years transcription experience, and many happy employers from other websites. I am avaliable to begin straight away and would be looking to complete this job over the next few days. A 3 minute audio, usually takes me approx. 5-10 minute to transcribe (depending upon the quality of the audio). I am a hard worker, who is reliable and good at meeting deadlines. My qualifications and your requirements are a good match. I have deep knowledge of general, focus groups, meetings, interviews, multiple speakers, and medical terminology, sermons, conference calls, and anatomy and physiology. I have uncommon ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles. I can even work in odd hours and under pressure. I have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to perform the essential functions of the position (including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure).
