I need an applescript that does the following:
After selecting files or folders in the finder and right clicking to select the applescript, the script will:
1. Ask "What is the matter number? (format 99-123)"
Test that the input is in correct format
2. Ask "Who is the client? (last name or entity name)"
3. Ask "What is the effective date? (format: YYYY-MM-DD)"
Default to today's date and test that the input is in the correct format
4. Ask "What is the type of law? (patent | trademark | copyright | software | licensing | misc)"
allow selection from one of this group
5. Ask "Who is the correspondent? (client | tribunal | adverse party | third party | memo | personal | library)"
allow selection from one of this group
Upon completion of all questions, the script will write a spotlight comment like this:
matter:<$matter> date:<$date> law:<$law> client:<$client>
The script will also set the label of the file depending on the correspondent:
Red for adverse party
Orange for third party
Yellow for memo
Green for client
Blue for tribunal
Purple for personal
Grey for library
I just completed an Automator Action written in AppleScript and believe that I can whip this up for you quickly.
Your explanation is superb and I would love to get this done for you as soon as possible.
