Hello My name is Debolina Sarkar, and I am a Chemical Engineering graduate. I shall be starting graduate school this fall, so have a few months to kill before that (hence Freelancer). Looking at your problem, I believe the script shouldn't take much time to write and is fairly straight-forward. As far as Python is concerned, I have been using it for the past three years. Apart from that, I also write in C, C++, and MATLAB, based on what I wish to achieve. Until December last year, I was at MIT working on my undergraduate thesis in computational immunology, so I have also used Python for solving fairly complex problems. Furthermore, I finished a similar job via freelancer a couple of days ago that involved making a portfolio-management script using Python (it used linear regression to decide trading stocks), which makes me more sure about your project.
