I have experience in Python and also in writing HDF5 files. I've already created a script to convert your text file to HDF5. If you look in my portfolio you will find a zip file with the script and the output data. Reading CSV files is also straightforward so implementing that part of the code will not be difficult. The output file created from my script matches up with your example file. The only difference is the age of Charles which doesn't match up with your text file. To run my script all you need to do is change the variable txtRoot to point to whereever the text file is on your system. The output file will be saved in the same directory.
