Create an easy way to RUN XMBC from the USB on apple tv

I need someone to quickly take this [login to view URL] and help me modify it so that I can run boxee/xbmc from the USB, not the apple tv. I want to mod the apple tv with the patch stick, but I dont want the apple tv to look like it was modded in the menus. I just want to put the usb in the back of the apple tv and run xbmc/boxee, and when the usb is not inserted in the apple tv, it boots regular into the proper apple tv interface. This should be very very easy for you linux guys.
