I have extensive experience of buying on Freelancer/Rent a Coder but this is the first time that I have ever specified hardware before so I am looking to work with someone who has proven experience of building electronic prototypes and can add significant value to the project(s) we work on.
I need a prototype unit building that fits the following parameters:
The processing unit can be based on a Raspberry Pi (I like the Pi because there is already so many supporting accessories such as enclosures etc), Pine 64 or similar unit that can be easily sourced from the UK, or any other other basic unit. Any other components must also be available to be sourced from the UK.
The processor unit must have both Bluetooth and GSM modules and meet all UK and EU power, health, safety and transmission standards.
All that is required of the processing unit is to:
1) receive an encoded bluetooth transmission code (there will be several bluetooth devices transmitting to the processing unit)
2) provide a simple visual display that the transmission has been received (led or similiar)
3) add a progammeable base code to the bluetooth code
4) transmit the combined code as an SMS text to a programmable mobile number via the GSM module.
5) provide a simple visual display that the SMS text code has been transmitted
6) Optional extra to provide a simple visual display that the SMS text has been received
The method of programming the base code and mobile number can be discussed. It needs to be a compromise between least cost and maximum ease of input.
The unit will need to be always on, or have instant wakeup on receipt of the Bluetooth signal (must never lose a transmission). It will need to be mains powered
A nice option to code in would be the ability to invoke a sub routine that ignored "false positives" based on either a sequence of too many of one signal within a short period of time, or too many different signals within a short period. However this is not mandatory in the first instance.
The Bluetooth receiver should be up to Bluetooth 4 compliant and the GSM module work on UK GSM network.
For the purposes of the prototype you can use a simple Bluetooth button (e.g. [login to view URL]) and any cheap mobile to use as input and output devices.
Once we have agreed the final specification and sourcing I will pay all the hardware cost up front before you start.
I require the following to complete the task:
Specification
Complete specification for both hardware and software
Initial Development
Costings and sourcing for every piece of hardware
Evidence that the processor and any additional modules meet the agreed standards
Prototype
3 x working prototypes
Full documentation on hardware and software code.
This is not a complex project for someone with the right experience I am looking for a turn round between two weeks and a month on this project, but I am fairly flexible.
Kind regards
Chris
