Design Cover Artwork for Teen Science Fiction Novel

This a small graphic design project for an upcoming teen sci-fi novel/book cover. The book will be published with Amazon publishing and needs an awesome cover to go along with it. It's about a boy who has the power to stop time. The time period is present day. The boy is age 17, black hair, sometimes wears a hoodie, but choose whatever clothes you think are fitting. There are scenes in a small town in TN, on a tennis court, in a coffee shop, in an office building in Manhattan, and a night festival near a river. Whenever the boy chooses to stop time, he generally slaps his hand against his chest, with the fingers balled into a fist. A blue ball of light can be seen emanating from him. There's one particularly gripping scene where he does this in a crouched position on a night street in a fit of anger/rage/heartbreak when the girl he has a crush on is hit by a speeding car. I'm a big fan of the photo-realistic style covers used in Star Wars books (see [login to view URL]), but photography might even work well. I'm not sure.
