Create plugin from existing video slider - repost

Hi. I was using deTube Wordpress theme but had to switch. There is a video slider I used in it that would pull whatever video link was in a custom field of a post and create a slide for it. The slides for any given slider (or a slider on a unique page) were determined by my preselecting the posts category to include. It is responsive, with html5 fallback and handled youtube, vimeo, and also played flv video types in the flash version. The author had customized his "sideplayer" so that I had the option to include one on any wordpress page. The player looks like the big one at the top of this page: [login to view URL] The source files are zipped and included. The customized PHP file is called [login to view URL] I need someone to turn it into a simple plugin that adds the "side player" option to a page in any wordpress theme, select category of posts to display, be compatible with iPad/iphone. To simplify it a little, the playlist (either below or on side) needs only the title of the posts, no description or thumbnail. Please keep in mind, all the work has been done, it just needs to be ported into a plugin for other themes. **** clarification messages: misterdc Yay! Okay, brass tacks. Control panel to select categories (in my case, I only ever choose one per page.) I assume it will work as before - playlist on right (when placed in a full-wodth page) and below if resized a la responsive/iphone, etc (or if I place it in a page with a sidebar). With yours, I may be going full-width, by the way. I have a corresponding post for every video I have on YouTube that I add cast, production info, etc and allows me to share videos to casting directors directly from my website so they're not lost in YouTube. Additionally, I also have a few Viacom clips that I self host (YouTube won't host). This slider we're modifying played those, too. See the original theme I zipped. I believe it played flvs. Placing it within a page would need to be done with a short code, right? If with a template edit, then I'll be locked with what I can put above or below it, right? I need that flexibility if I change themes or design concept. Also, not all pages will have a player. Additional items: I don't need thumbnails or descriptions in the playlist - just the titles. Though I do want the auto-generate thumbs/feature image that his code does. Again, it's all there in the zipped file, just need to port it...
