DEDICATED SERVER for 1024 users Our company is evaluating proposals for a large dedicated mainframe server suitable for serving around 1024 users. The server must be equipped with - ultra-fast web access, upgradable subsequently; - high elaboration power, suitable for required performances as described below, multiple-core based for possible future speed upgrading; - double-safety backup feature, to be saved on a different back-up only machine; - server administrator suite, with full control of clients status, checklist, diagnostics. The server must independently supply each of 1024 client users with: - diskspace, web-accessible, around 50 GB ; - CPU power comparable to current top speed home computer; - batch-processes computation, including ftp up/downloading, and file reading/saving, continuing also when client is not connected; - CPU time billing for each client; - possibility for client to buy additional disk quota, and extra billing; - possibility for client to buy additional CPU time, and extra billing; - Client desktop suite, with full control of personal status, checklist, diagnostics, speed and disk measures. Guarantees of server performance required, with periodic third-part benchmarking and certification. Quotation must specify: - model of framork machine or network used; - guaranteed total bandwith and sharing algorithm indications; - total computing power measure, and sharing CPU time tecnique indications; - total disk size, its physical subdivision, and backup system description; - general company information, for evaluation of reliability. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Mainframe operating system, or large-network management program.
