Altering existing VB utility

I bought a certain hardware that measures 8 analogue inputs and relays this information via a serial cable to my computer. It comes with a convenient VB software called Data Acquisition Utility. The problem is that I am accessing this RS232 port over GPRS with a lot of delay and high latency. It is therefore not working. I suspect that it is timing out too fast. So what I need is for someone to have a look at the provided software and see of they can alter the time-out period to 15 sec. Thats all I need.
