As a result of a forensic extraction process, I have many thousands of file (word, excel, PDF, PPT) recovered from a corrupted hard drives in a folder structure.
About 50% of these will not longer open in the native application and therefore I want to move them into a different folder structure (whilst keeping the foldernames)
I need a script or gui to request the top level directory, then test each of the files in the directory, to see if they will open. If they will they they should stay in the directory. If they cause the application to error then they should be moved into a different directory.
The entire process should run without crashing or prompting, leaving me with two directories, one where the files will open, the other where the corruption exists.

I have written numerous utilities to load and process office documents. I am sure using routines I have already written will allow me to quickly put this in place.
I can turn this project around very quickly!
