I have a small existing script which is supposed to match a string from db and update db It is not matching the string when it sees it would like for someone to debug it. I am 99% sure that I am entering the match incorrectly

Hello, having read your posting, two possible error sources came to my mind. It is possible that your problem is caused by the fact that you didn't use the correct regular pattern but it may also be that you didn't correctly take the database encoding into account. At any rate, I hope that I will be able to quickly isolate and solve the problem. I should mention that I have more than ten years of programming experience with Perl.

Hello. I just have a few quick questions. This project is listed under PHP, Perl and Shell Script but you say it is a perl script, is it simply a perl script or is it kind of a mixture of the three? Also, would it be possible to see the script? From the description it appears that you want to search the database for a match and then update with something?
