Create a PHP MySQL Search Function

I have a MySQL database with lots of tables. I need to have a search script written for a database that I can feed 14 different search options and return an array of results that will have 10 fields per result and have that data able to be paginated. Full access to a test mysql database with sample data will be provided along with phpmyadmin to the database. I would prefer if it was a function that I could query as and return an array of the results I will instruct what tables and fields need to be joined and searched on: search($page, $item1, $item2, $item3, $item4, $item5, $item6... etc).
