Project type: app conversion from C to Java.
Application details:
- name: rsync
- running platform: linux
Parts of the application that need converted:
- Command-line parameter parsing and interpretation,
- Global functions.
Source files that will need conversion: main.c, options.c, exclude.c, log.c, t_stub.c , t_unsafe.c, util.c, wildtest.c, rsync.h, popt/findme.c, popt/popt.c, popt/poptconfig.c, popt/popthelp.c, popt/poptparse/c, popt/findme.h, popt/popt.h, popt/ poptint.h, popt/system.h.
Functions that are not present in the requested source files will be included in the DummyMethods class, that contains the method names, and in body the methods will simply output to the console the name of the method(e.g. [url removed, login to view](“Calling unimplemented function ??)).
Upon conversion, the app will have to behave the same as the original one with respect to the translated functions.
Comments for JavaDoc need to be added for each class/method. Copy+paste from the original code where comments exists, brief (short) description otherwise.
When doing the translation respect the following:
- convert each source file into one class; replace the global calls to methods from that class; this will help when debugging and testing
- constants that are defined inside the source files will be added to the corresponding class (e.g. the ones define in chmod.c will be added into Chmod class)
- first start with defining all classes, then add the constants and the methods to each class; then start converting the body of the methods.
- some features (like links are not available on all platforms, test the platform before making them available)
