Current website has thousands of files, composed of lectures, articles, and abstracts, as as separate HTML pages. These are indexed on entry into about 300 topic areas. About 20 different category webpages, and 300 topic-specific web-pages need to display this content, and it all needs to be searchable according to various user preferences.
Job includes:
1) Developing a system for interative user entry to facilitate capturing 3 categories of information: abstracts (from society website - we have permission to do this); articles (from journal websites), and lectures. Need tools to control word capitalization and bolding of words in titles; ideally tools to make style listing of authorname and initials uniform (these are listed many different ways of various journal websites).
2) System to be able to update 300 topic webpages and 20 category webpages after each round of data entry. Category webpages display primarily lectures. Also, need system to display 5 weekly update pages. At the present time these new web-pages are generated either manually, or using a report generator from Paradox.
3) Include legacy content (available either from Paradox databases) or from cumulative web pages going back 4 years for previously posted content.
4) Developing system for searching abstracts, articles, or lectures, based on user preferences and specifications.
