Add login/logout functionality + get data into database

I have a fairly long signup form (about 40 fields). Currently there's an empty user database, but no login/logout functionality.

Your tasks are mainly to:
1.) Enable user to login/log out (i.e. open/close session) using a username and password stored in the DB (1 day?)
2.) Set the form to adjust slightly depending on whether user is logged in or not
3.) Set the form up to store data in the relational database (i.e. against the logged in/signed up user's account) (1 day?)
The database/table/fields are set up but my database knowledge is limited so you may wish to change the structure slightly or use different field types.
I'm looking for somebody to keep on and do much more work after this project.
