CentOS VPS, 3GB RAM, 2,33Ghz running Plesk panel, Apache, nginx as reverse proxy and hosting a Joomla website. I have root access. Recently the server went offline a few times due to a misconfiguration or maybe DDoS attacks. Your job is: - find out what's the problem - solve the problem - fine tune the whole server, including apache, FCGI, nginx, MySql so it will perform the best way it can.

Hi, Experienced sysadmin here. I have good hands on troubleshooting. I would need access to your server and a day or two at max (hoping the issue repeats) to pinpoint the server. If you are not using any logging as of now I'd suggest you do that or I can do that for you. Also I'd need a list of websites that's running on your server and their content / hit size just to estimate if it's because of them over-consuming on the resources. Hello. More 20 years programming and administrating experience. It is little ambiguity in your task - going offline can be result of many possible reasons. If this was not logged and not repeated, then very little chances to find problem. If it was logged, then task will be solvable.
