Creation of customised forms for joomla / moodle integration

Creation of a series of customised forms for joomla 1.5. We are a language school offering face2face and online learning. Our site is a joomla 1.5 installation with SSO to moodle CMS integrated via the joomla jFusion plugin and user groups determined by JUGA from dioscouri. We are currently looking to develop 5 custom forms (listed below). This project is time-sensitive and I should add that the issue of design is very important for us.

1. A custom registration form for students to replace the standard joomla registration form

A registration form to register students with limited fields (first names; family name(s); email; repeat email; username; password; verify password; link to disclaimer; accept disclaimer; antispam; submit) and field checking. New user account activation is turned off (no email to activate account) but notifications should be sent to admin.

2. A custom form to join a moodle group with a group enrollment key

When students logon, they access moodle (SSO via jFusion) choose a course and enter a group enrollment key to enroll in a specific group. We would like to develop a small form in a joomla module (placed on the student user group front page) where students can enroll in a course directly. The form would include a dropdown menu with a list of all available courses (read from the moodle dbase), a text box to enter a group enrollment key and validation messages. Multiple submissions of this form would allow students to enroll in multiple groups.

3. A custom registration form for teachers

Currently, our registration process for teachers and coordinators (representatives of our client companies) involves 3 steps: registration in joomla > entering a JUGA access code (once registered) > entering a moodle group registration key. We would like to simplify this process by building a customised teacher registration form that combined these 3 steps in one form, took the user to the user group home page and sent an email to the administrator notifying the registration of a teacher or coordinator. New user account activation is turned off.

4. A custom registration form for coordinators

Identical to the above (item 3) except that the form title is different.

5. A custom JUGA join user group form

To allow for the possibility of registered students needing to change their JUGA user group, a small form in a joomla module (placed on the student user group front page) where students can join a JUGA use group directly. This would replicate the functions of the standard JUGA access codes form (enter code, submit, validation) ideally, with the addition of reload page so that the changes to the user group take effect.

Access to the two custom registration forms (items 2, 3 and 4 above) should be preceded by a page asking potential members which community they will join (i.e. "Please click on the group you are registering for.": "I am registering as a Student."; "I am registering as a Teacher."; "I am registering as a Coordinator.") and then redirecting them to the appropriate form.

Work on this project needs to take into account a follow-on project that will involve a combined user-registration form (all elements from item 1) together with an job application form for teachers. We already have the job application form written in PHP but -at a later stage- we would like to incorporate this component.

Ideally, these forms should be developed using a native joomla form-creation component (such as breezing forms or chronoforms) so that (1) we can make small changes ourselves, if necessary and (2) we maintain some consistency in design.
