We are currently using Miva for affiliate tracking, using the Viking Coders add-on modules for additional functionality. (keep reading even if you never have heard of these systems, its not crucial to bidding on the project). The Affiliate system places the data for each affiliate in a Dbase file. We would like our affiliate partners to access elements of that database. I have included a sample Dbase file as an example so that you can understand the structure of the file. We will NOT be able to adjust the dBase file ??" treat it as a read only. There is a PHP module to access dBase ??" this may be an appropriate solution, but I am open to other suggestions. We will need to extract and manipulate some data elements of that file. The attached powerpoint contains the vision of what we want to accomplish. The affiliate advertisement should have the ability to total the number of orders and do simple math on those orders to show a balance of “carbon reduced??. For example, if Affilate XYZ has sold 3 TPAH and 1 TPAU, they would have a carbon reduced balance of 38,000 lbs (3*6000 lbs + 1*20,000 lbs). There are four SKUs, available on our website. An alternative approach is to create a separate mySQL database with a highly streamlined or automatic way to include data from the Dbase File. In either case you will be responsible for also implementing both the server database files and the java elements needed to reside on the affiliate page (design is not important just the mechanics).
