Backend PHP development

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled PHP developer who is up for a challenge. Our team of 5 developers is looking to find a few "code snippers" to come in and help us out during rushes. Our first project is an interesting project and one that shows the variety and complexities of our normal projects. We are attempting to automate parts of the sales cycle. Currently when a sales representative submits an IO to a client he fills in an Excel sheet and then exports the excel sheet to PDF format. He then emails that to the client. The client prints it, makes his comments and re-scans it and sends it back in PDF format. As you can see at this stage it's become an image but the sales representative takes the changes and applies them to the IO. He then resubmits the IO to the client which prints it, signs it, scans it and sends it back to the sales representative. A very tedious process it is indeed but one that we hope will be shortly rectified. We are looking for an individual who can build us a server side component that will be able to take a PDF file and transform it into an image. He will then use Googles OCR to extract the IO ID. We prefer the component be developed in PHP but will accept a command line utility instead if it can be justified. We have pretty strict development guidelines and an in house Wiki. We expect the winner of this project will respect our dev guidelines and produce a wiki documentation on how to use it.
