A NTP server is running on an [url removed, login to view] nanobsd 7.0 system. The following items need to be configured by the user at any time the user chooses. 1. IP Address and netmask (Can be suggested by first using DHCP probe) Propogates to [url removed, login to view], hosts, [url removed, login to view] 2. IP Gateway Gateway propogates to [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] 3. DNS Server Suggest gateway for DNS server Propogates to [url removed, login to view] 4. NTP Configuration. a. NTP restrictions by function and user/group/network b. Limited ability for user to write custom configuration if desired. 5. SAMBA Permissions by user/group/network 6. Host name (auto suggest "ntp" + last 4 digits of MAC address) Host name propogates to hosts, [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view] Example "ntp9999" 7. IPF firewall enable or disable. Ability to select access by port number and/or functionality. Suggested ports are 22 (SSH), 123(NTP) plus any additional ports needed for SAMBA SSH, and Windows Network Neighborhood. Configuration should be from the local console or ssh using default keyboard and monitor. Other considerations as suggested by worker will be considered.
The simpler the configuration program is, the better. Do not require anything fancy. Must be self checking for ranges and generally accepted limits. Must not allow user to configure system with values that would cause a system crash or severe malfunction.
