We currently use an extensive case management database program written in compiled Turbo Basic. The program has approximately 300K of total code. It manages over 70,000 exisiting case records on a 512K fielded DOS record format for each record. The program is used in both our Corporate offices and our 7 branch offices, although in differing versions. It runs multi-user on NT 4.0 networks Due to DOS size limitations, the program consists of the following separate chained modules: Case intake and billing Accounting and sales analysis Client/Investigator success analysis Utilities program Case Search engines Branch Database transfer program and uploading software A utility module to initialize new year databases and Word Processind directories. As it was written in house, we have all the original DOS code and would like to re-write the program in Visual basic for Windows use. I am the programmer. The program uses an alpha index for each year to quickly access a master database for the records. The program maintains the following databases: Alpha Index Dbase (For speed in accessing records) Main record Dbase Payroll Dbase ( For sales information/employee) Video Dbase A/R database All DBases index each other for multiple record components needed from each master record. Each week all billed case records are stripped to a small transfer file at each branch by a transfer module. The file is then emailed to Corporate. These transfer files are then uploaded to the Corporate database by a version of the same module to provide total company sales per week.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Installation package that will install the software (in ready-to-run condition) on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) Complete ownership and distribution copyrights to all work purchased. 4) Personal co-ordination and contact with the programmers to insure a smooth transfer to the windows based operating system so that our current users are not "Lost" by the new non-DOS interfaces.
## Platform
The original program is fully documented and de-bugged. Variables are labeled on seperate forms. It has been compiled from DOS into Turbo-Basic. We wish to re-write it for Windows 98 or XP usage using Visual Basic or any similar platform that we can add more code to later. We also want to increase the orogonal record size fro 512 bytes to at least 2K/record, adding "notes" pages. A conversion program may be needed. I am the programmer, so I am completely familiar withn the program's execution, menu's and the variables. (There are many).
