I as a student developed an android app that helps you find other users in your locale radius using GPS and then you can chat with them share pics etc, using this experience I can develop your stock market app. For your app, I was thinking for Yahoo finance instead of sending url requests we can use their official api to download all the stock details in one shot. Also when it comes to stock time is an important asset. We can run a background service which will periodically update the stocks and provide users with notifications whenever their stock is up or down by some margin that will be set by user.
