I have a floor door. It will have 2 electrical linear actuators to open and close the door. I would like you to confirm the formulas to be used to calculate the force required for the actuators. I do not need any additional drawings. Description Attached. Formula to be confirmed attached. Figure Attached.

Hello, Force is varying with respect to amount of door opening. max force location is at end as you expected. Same thing can be proved with some software. I can do these things if it offered for me. Regards Jagadeesh

I am a new member but I have 3 years experience on design mechanical products. I am working on R&D Department and I usually design mechatronics systems using hydraulic cylinder (it is same same with your problem). I view your attached file and calculated your model. The result of Ao is right but the force need to open the door is wrong. My result: F= (Mass of door x 9,81 x w/2 x Ao) / (Number of Actuators x (x-v) ) I am a new member so I need your project to improve my CV. Thank you!

I am a Mechanical Engineer. I can check the formula. From your sketches it appears that the force required at the initial closed position will be highest. and thereafter the force required to further open will reduce. I will go into all aspects and give you the answer in the shortest possible time
