Hi I am Msc in biotechnology and Bsc in microbiology. I have 3 years experience in bioinformatics and drug binding research and 7 years experience in depth biochemistry and molecular biology. I have not yet developed any bioinformatics tool but i have extensively used them. I am not a full time programmer but have knowledge of programming in C and R and have understanding of algorithms. My milestone and asking price can be revised upon learning more about the project. I'm a postdoc doing bioinformatic research at West Virginia University here in US. I have experiences in using programming tools like Python and R to analyze large genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic datasets. I also developed a computational screening procedure to determine the confidence of chromatin binding sites identified in ChIP-Seq experiments (chromatin immuno-precipitation coupled with high-throughput sequencing). I expect this project to be a collaboration lasting more than just a few days, because it takes extensive testing and revision of the algorithms and communications to ensure the algorithm meets your goals and is able to handle all kinds of outliers and exceptions in input data. Also, if new types of input data is recognized helpful to decision making in drug repositioning, the algorithms can be improved to incorporate those data. Wet-lab testing of in silico prediction by the algorithm can also help improve the algorithm, and I can help a lot interpret and utilize wet-lab results given my solid biological background.
