I have an application written in Java with JOGL using GL2 that I need to re-write in GL3 or GL4 (preferred 4). The existing software is used to display multidimensional data by using that data to represent location (x,y,z), colors (r,g,b,a), and object size (l,w,h). I currently use GLUT to do the shapes and TextRenderer to do text labels. The data changes dynamically in the application and can be animated as over-time information. Unfortunately all of the GL2 methodology is no longer viable (all the text is rendering wrong and some of the objects no longer render). All of my research has led to the need to upgrade and start using VBO's, shaders, programs and all that jazz. I do not seem to understand it well enough and the online examples do not work for me. I am hoping to have the project done in the next 2 weeks. What I am really after is an expert to give me example code to work with in my primary application. I am not looking for someone to just do it all for me.
A previous version of the software (for windows, I now use Mac) that will give you an idea of what it does can be found at [url removed, login to view]
Hello, I can help you finish the project. I am very familiar with Modern OpenGL. So I think I can make some example programs for you that you can easily integrate into your project. Thanks a lot.
