Branding for new start up company

I have a rough logo and rough website layout, but before I can proceed with the web design project, I need to get the branding right. Am looking for someone to come up with some ideas for this new social networking site. I want it to be fresh, web 2.0 feel and have some sort of catchy icon or character to do with squirrels. It can't be too tacky and has to have some sort of seriousness about it, so think Twitter (with birds), ebay, Facebook. I want to achieve something as impressive as this [login to view URL] So the website which I have already started has a massive landscape cartoon background. It has to have something easily recognisable and likeable about it. Please note I am not looking for the website to be created, nor am I looking for business cards etc. This is purely to get an identity and overall feel for the brand, which may involve tweaking the logo and coming up with some other fresh and unique ideas. Will send current logo to those who have an impressive portfolio and a good bid. Please detail what your bid includes by PMB. Only those with excellent branding experience and skill should apply as I have high standards being a web designer myself, so want someone to do better than I can! I am a small start up company so limited budget at this stage.
