Hi all, I'm writing a book called 'The Ledger of Good and Evil: A Manual for Humanity', and it offers a method of self-observation and cultivation. It's a story from ancient China whereby the main character figures out a way of accounting for his good and bad behaviour, thoughts and intentions. He takes a bag of yellow beans on his left side, and a bag of black beans on his right, in the centre of his chest he has an empty bag. As he goes through his day he observes his good deeps and takes a yellow bean for those, when he sees himself doing something inappropriate he takes a black bean. After 100 days he empties out the beans and this is his ledger. To begin with there are more black beans, but then gradually as the months roll by, there are only yellow beans. I'm hoping for a modern equivalent of this method, using an app, where you swipe either yellow or black beans into a bag, and then after 100 days it shows you your result, stores it and then you start the next 100 days.
