Omega fatty acids are unsaturated fats that are considered essential to human function, but which aren’t synthesized within the body. This means that you have to get these fats through a healthy and balanced diet – something which the average consumer in today’s food society fails to do. Let’s take a look at these invaluable dietary fats:
Omega-3
Omega-3 oils are one of the most commonly promoted fats for consumer health – and with good reason. These fatty acids have properties that have been shown to remove dangerous fats from the blood, increasing heart health, as well as counter our old enemy, inflammation, helping with diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, depression, and asthma, as well as, of course, reducing acne. These helpful fatty acids are usually found in fatty, salt-water fish, such as :
• Anchovies
• Salmon
• Cod
• Mackerel
• Sturgeon
• Herring
Research has also gone in to increasing the amounts of omega-3 fatty acids in other foods, such as eggs, by feeding the producing animals food that contains seaweed and other omega-inducing ingredients, so keep an eye out for foods that have been supplemented naturally with your health in mind.
You should, however, avoid using omega-3 as a cure-all supplement for your skin and heart
