In this project you will be tasked with taking an existing, non-freemium game and injecting freemium mechanics as well as psychological mechanics to ensure an addictive gameplay that maximizes profits. You will write a document that expresses in detail the changes you would make to the game. Explain your reasons why you choose to include particular mechanics, and why you think they will work with the games pre-existing audience. Examine the games primary User Types and use Intrinsic Motivation mechanics to entice those players to your proposed updates. You are tasked with being a little evil. Go crazy with it!
Your group will also perform a presentation in class of your project. For the presentation, assume you work for the company that made the original game and you are pitching these modifications to the boss of the studio. Prepare a few slides to visual get your idea across.
The more “evil” the idea, the better. Try to think outside of the box.
A Document Detailing your Re-Designed Game
Explain in a few sentences the original game
Include a couple screenshots of the original game
Detail at least six (6) Freemium Monetization or Psychological Game Mechanics that you would add to the game
Explain why you think your new mechanics will work with the game players User Types and their Intrinsic Motivations
Include any slides for your presentation in this document
