We need code to do the following:
We have a flash flv player (.swf file)
We want to use this single player to play different videos that users request. The users clicks on button 1 in a flash menu. this flash menu is on a asp (vbscript) page, when clicked the above flv player will open in another asp page as well.
The flv player will work fine if you hard code the location and name of the video file.
We want to send a variable from the menu page to the flv player telling the flv player what video to play
a sample of the code that plays the video file in the flv player is:
loadMDVideo("videos/[login to view URL]", null, 480, 320);
As stated earlier if it is hard-coded the player works great. We do not want a seperate player for each video.
we prefer the variable to remain in vbscript as we do not want the video file location to be revealed in the source code. (create a session?, or something)
This site uses a windows server using vbscript. this site does also use mysql for logging in etc... purposes, we also utilize a session ID for each user.
Each person will have access to different video sections some will have access to the same videos as well.
WHAT WE NEED:
Code to put on the asp pages
Code to put in the flv player to grab the variable.
Code to put in the flash menu to send variable
The end user will be going back and forth to the menu page several times and playing different videos or possibly the same video again.
We don't anything too fancy, for you flash experts this is probably a no brainer.
