I need someone to design an ultra high vacuum system to fit on my Edwards turbo molecular (CF100) pump.
I need to evacuate a vessel of about 300mils in volume and be able to seal it and remove it from the vacuum system.
Anyone out there who can help?
Hi there. I've been reading through the project boards and this was the only project that caught my interest. My first and favourite job was in Australia as part of a team developing bionic vision. One of my projects that i've spent quite some time perfecting with low budget tinkering was sealing capsules in an evacuated glass tube using a turbo molecular pump and induction heating.
I can thus say that i already feel familiar and very keen on approaching your project. However, there are many more details you will have to furnish.. What is this vessel that you're trying to seal? what is it made of and thus what method of sealing do you intend? What is the purpose of sealing? Do you intend to keep gasses out or moisture or everything or are small molecules like Helium acceptable to penetrate the vessel? What is your budget in terms of building the system itself? etc etc.
I'm very interested. Do get back to me if you are!
Cheers
