Development of Concept device into Maufacturable Prototype

I have a device whose shell is being sketched up and rendered at the moment by an industrial designer. I want to take the next steps in the [url removed, login to view] outline what steps you woul take to develop it to prototype test. The device is a relatively simple household consisting of contolled LED lights. there is a sound component as well as several ways to input data Wirelessly and keyboard. There are timers involved, LCD screen, display of dates etc.
